Details
Hopax is a manufacturer and supplier of Caps (CAS 1135-40-6), a zwitterionic biological buffer often used as a buffering agent in biological and biochemical research.
This buffer is widely used is different applications, including cation exchange chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, diffusion blotting and electroblotting. Its use has also been reported in the study of enzymatic processes above physiological pH and as an effective crystallization solution for different proteins.
The longer carbon chain of the sulfonic acid group in Caps gives it a slightly more alkaline range than Ches, also manufactured by Hopax.
